Calvin Johannsen - Portfolio

Calvin Johannsen is a creative professional and award-winning filmmaker that infuses a spirit of action and excitement into everything he creates. His latest work, “Stripped Down”, is an intimate look at rock and roll bands and the impact their music provides. Other recent works include Redbull Blackout, (a high-action, high-definition, nationally released wakeboarding film) and VENT TV, a free-speech outlet.

Calvin is a digital artist whose creative concert of concepts demands attention: he believes that crystal-clear footage, superbly mixed music and motion graphics will meld to form the most impressive, cutting-edge media. Calvin is not only setting trends, but also teaching upcoming media students to do the same as a counselor with Camp Multimedia. He’s even bringing his creative inspiration further into the community as his university’s general manager for cable operations. Through this position, Calvin collaborates with a team of students and faculty to provide an outpouring of rich content.

Calvin recently received his degree in Electronic Media Communications from the University of Northern Iowa. To his credit is a certificate in Computer Applications which reinforces Calvin’s abilities not only as an artist, but as a visionary in interactive media. Calvin’s work was even awarded Best of Show in this year’s Senior Showcase, and his former clothing line SYNN was a John Pappajohn Regional Award Winner in April 2008. Calvin’s talents allow him to combine the powers of Adobe Creative Suite and other industry leading software into the ultimate stream of impacting and relevant digital arts.
